Welcome to Art School Wales
Art School Wales was created by professional local artist and teacher Shirley Griffiths in Autumn 2014.
*
The classes have been designed to give adults full tuition in
a wide variety of media and techniques in Art in a comfortable
and social environment, with an emphasis on learning rather than paperwork or examinations.
New to Art? Don't worry, you don't need any previous experience to join Art School Wales. All students receive one to one and group tuition during classes.
Art School Wales is a unique learning hub that links all aspects of art, design and art history.
All materials used are included in the course fees
(excluding paper, which can be purchased in class).
Techniques are taught in pencil, water-soluble graphite, powdered graphite, watercolour pencil, charcoal, soft pastel, oil pastel, pen and wash, watercolours, acrylics, oils, inks
and gouache.
Step by step tuition is given in all media and students
are given set themes and projects to work on.
Each member of Art School will have access to our private
Art School Group on Facebook, to share work and items of interest, and a private photographic resource page, the Art School Wales Resource Collective.
Art School Wales also has an onsite shop to purchase materials at great prices and an Art Installation Garden for students to draw and paint scenes outside if they wish.
If all that wasn't enough, we also hold an end of year Art Exhibition. The last 12 exhibitions were a huge success
and were held at the Riverfront Arts Centre Gallery,
St. Woolos Cathedral and The Share Centre in Newport.
